A. Obligation
Obligation is an expression in English that is used to express an obligation.
Example :
~ You must study hard.
~ Motorcyclists and drives have to have licenses.

1. S + must +V1 +O + adv
• The student must be disciplined to succeed.
2. S+have to +V1 +O +adv
•You have to stop that bad habit.
B. Prohibition
Prohibition is an expression to warn others not to do something or forbid.
For example :
~ Don't speak.
~ We must not say bad words to other people.
~ Drivers must not pass other road users from lefl.
~ I must not be later,or I'II be punished.
Respond :
▪ Yes
▪ Ok
C. Suggestion/Recommendation
Suggestion can be used in the form of solutions,suggestions,plans and ideas.
Example:
~ You should change your attitude.
~ You should have a rest for a while,dear.
~ Deo should ask Mrs.Ariyani to open the seminar.

• Alright
• Of course
• Certainly
• Sure

You should study hard.

Instruction is the sentence said when we enjoin someone.Function of instruction is enjoin someone to do something.
For example:
a.) Open the door
b.) Open the door,please
c.) Do you homework now
Respond:

Mr.Budi : Secondly, click the coreldraw icon located at the main dekstop
students : Alright sir
Mr kin : Then, draw an icon from the shape tool and be creative from it!
students : Alright sir.
E. Invitation
An invitation is a request from either a greeting or quote for someone to do something or go somewhere.
For example:
a) Would you like to come to my parents wedding anniversary party.
b) I invite you to attend my birthday party
Respond :
If you accept, then you use :
• Yes, ...
• Sure
• Alright
• Of course
• OK
• Certainly

Permission is an expression to declare a permit to people and give permission
